Background, Education & Experience
Michael P. Okayo received a Bachelor of Laws from University of
Nairobi, Master of Laws from University of Southern California and M.B.A.
from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Experience
Years 2020 through 2021 served as an attorney advisor for U.S. Small
Business Administration (SBA)
Years 2016 through 2020, served as a contract attorney providing legal
assistance in multi-jurisdictional and complex litigation matters involving
product liability, negligence, racketeer influenced and corrupt
organizations (RICO), and conspiracy liability that resulted in over USD 2
billion in settlements.
Years 2015 through 2019, was an investment banking associate. Managed all
aspects of mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions for middle
market technology and digital media companies, strategic and financial
acquirers, and acted as in-house counsel.
Years 2007 through 2015, served as contract attorney for several entities.
Supported a landmark $1.25 billion anti-trust litigation case, provided
litigation assistance in commercial litigation cases, assisted in the
defense of a class action lawsuit and in the defense of manufacturers
against product liability.
